Arbitration: Delivering Fair and Reasoned Determinations

Choosing the right arbitrator is a crucial step in any dispute, as it can significantly influence both the process and the outcome. The arbitrator’s judgment and management of the proceedings determine not only how efficiently and fairly the case is conducted, but also how the facts, evidence, and law are ultimately evaluated. An experienced and impartial arbitrator ensures that the process is balanced, transparent, and leads to a well-reasoned resolution.

With extensive experience in commercial and consumer arbitration, I am committed to conducting proceedings that are fair, thorough, and impartial, ensuring that parties receive equitable and carefully considered outcomes.

I currently serve as an arbitrator on panels with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), the American Arbitration Association (AAA), and the Florida New Motor Vehicle Arbitration Board. I am also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb). Over the course of my practice, I have presided over a wide range of cases involving complex contractual and consumer protection issues, financial and travel disputes, and new motor vehicle warranty matters, both de novo and on appeal.

Mediation: Facilitating Resolution Through Dialogue

I view my work in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) as both a professional discipline and a purpose-driven practice—one that allows me to support individuals and organizations in navigating conflict with fairness, clarity, and compassion.

While arbitration and mediation share a common goal—resolving disputes—they require distinct yet complementary skill sets. Arbitration involves analyzing evidence and rendering legally binding decisions as a neutral third party. Mediation, on the other hand, emphasizes collaboration, negotiation, and guiding parties toward mutually acceptable solutions. My experience in both arenas allows me to approach each case with the flexibility and insight it demands.

During my 24 years with FINRA, I handled complex investor disputes and regulatory compliance matters, often working at the intersection of law, finance, and human behavior. In that role, I frequently used mediation techniques—such as de-escalation, policy clarification, and negotiated resolution—to address conflicts before they escalated into formal enforcement actions. These experiences deepened my ability to balance diverse interests, build trust, and facilitate resolution in high-stakes and emotionally charged situations.

Over the years, I’ve developed a strong ability to:

Becoming a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Mediator was a natural extension of my work as an arbitrator. It has enabled me to broaden my practice and apply my legal, regulatory, and investigative expertise to a wide range of disputes—including commercial, consumer, employment, business, and family matters.

Mediation has become one of the most fulfilling aspects of my practice. Each case is an opportunity to create space for understanding, reduce the emotional and financial toll of conflict, and help parties move forward with confidence and dignity. I approach every matter with a commitment to continuous learning, professional growth, and delivering meaningful results.
